The NGO currently runs one day care center and four small centers in Ajmer district, where we run a bridge course for these children, where we have our trained teachers. But as already mentioned due to limited resources we have faced a lot of challenges and hinder our goal of building a proper school and rehabilitate more street children. Therefore in lieu of the above problem we decided to enroll our 45 to 50 students to Government schools of Ajmer city every year.
Gyanam Education and Social Welfare Society with the help of Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Ajmer aims with the objectives of uplifting the socio-economic conditions of poor and marginalized women of the society through the provisions of building capacity and skills building. It works for the empowerment of the women by conducting the following activities: Imparting training on certain livelihood-driven activities.
Gyanam Society has come up with its program “WINGS FOR WOMEN” under which the society has generated employment opportunities for more than 100 women in nearby rural area. As it has set up its factories in rural areas to enable the women to build their capacity to survive the competitive market world and attain livelihood security. The trained women will generate additional income to meet their basic needs; to improve their socioeconomic-cultural standards by promoting awareness and participation in family responsibilities, sustaining small savings and net working with banks and other government bodies and to educate women in mother & child care and healthy environment.
Gyanam has partnered various Government bodies and private bodies like Hindustan Zink LTD. and together has done vocational training on various courses like Leather bags making, Boutique training, Design Fundamental, Music and Dance, Professional Art and Craft, Technical Production, Beauty Services, Baking course, Cooking Course, Hospitality etc.
As Gyanam is very much cognizant about the community health and therefore has conducted numerous health and sanitation awareness campaigns in Ajmer, where
Along with the physical health of individuals in a community Gayanam is also concerned about their Mental Wellbeing. Gyanam provides treatment, support and care to persons affected with a Mental Illness or emotional/mental conditions rendering them unable to function. After care and vocational support at our rehabilitation center it ensures complete integration within society. Care and support to the caregivers by involving families and rendering psycho-education, & therapy.
Gyanam was privileged to work in partnership with CMHO-Rajasthan to create awareness on Substance abuse in all the government schools of Ajmer.
Along with this Gyanam runs its own awareness campaign “YTAATM” on drug de addiction and organizes a regular workshop for this with expert panel.
In rural areas, with the help of Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Self-Help Groups (SHG) supported and mentored by Gyanam education and social welfare society have helped address various challenges related to the pandemic.
During this pandemic situation women trained by Gyanam have earned nearly Rs 20,000 per month and have supported their families.
